Children's Dentistry - Pediatric Specialists

Kids have unique needs. That's why other doctors often refer their younger patients to our specialized, kid-friendly office. Certified Pediatric Dentistry requires an additional 2 years of post doctoral training working with infants and children. From our prize cabinets, video games, and balloons to our specially trained doctors and assistants, your child will want to come to the dentist!

And...we're really good at helping parents feel at ease too.

At San Diego Smile Pro we do everything we can to ensure that you and your child have a great experience. Please let us know in advance if there is anything we can do to make this a positive experience for your child. Having a good experience now will help in the development of good dental habits.

Your Pediatric Dental Planner

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that children should visit the dentist by the age of 12 months. Providing your child with good dental care in a positive environment will help in finding any small dental problems. As a child grows small problems can get far worse, early detection and treatment will save your children from unnecessary pain in the future.  Additionally decay grows slowly, in many cases if it is found soon enough it can be treated and even reversed.

Select the plan that is right for your child from the options below.

"Some tips for a great dental visit...

  • Schedule an appointment for your young child at a time when they will be the most alert and will not conflict with regular nap times or meals.
  • Children who love being read to might enjoy a story about good dental visits. There are many including "Berenstain Bears" and "Curious George" at your local bookstore.
  • Ensure that you do not show trepidation. Children are very perceptive and will pick up on your fears and anxiety. Use positive language when discussing their first visit and prevent others from being negative with them.
  • Children need good role models to develop good habits. Be that positive influence in your childs life by brushing regularly, flossing, eating healthy, and scheduling your own dental appointments.
